Abstract submission

Abstracts must be submitted online through the conference website. Do not fax, mail or email your abstract as it will not be considered. Please note that abstracts can only be eventually accepted if at least one author has registered for participation in the conference.

Presenting authors of accepted abstracts are required to register for the Conference by the now re-extended deadline of May 31, 2011 (note, however, that the deadline for the early bird fee is May 15. After this date the regular fee applies) .

Abstracts for which no registration fee has been paid by May 31 will not be published in the Conference proceedings and in the BMC Proceedings issue.

Only up to two abstracts can be submitted per registered participant. Furthermore only one oral presentation per presenting author will be selected to allow for greater diversity and representation in the oral sessions.

Adequacy to the BMC Proceedings formats

The abstract format originally proposed was already very close to the BMC Proceedings format. The general BMC Proceedings abstract preparation guidelines are detailed in the separate link http://www.treebiotech2011.com/BMC_format.html

Presentation formats

In each session we will  have two or three invited speakers (30 min. each) and up to six presentations (15 minutes each) selected from those submitted abstracts that specifically requested consideration for oral presentation.

PowerPoint presentations on virus-free USB pendrives are preferred. Speakers must hand in their presentation ahead of time at the speaker ready room.

Poster sessions will be organized at specific times to allow for adequate time for presenting authors to be met by Conference delegates for discussion, although all posters will permanently stay affixed in specific poster area during the whole duration of the Conference. Poster board size should not exceed a 90 cm (width) x 110 cm (height). Poster hanging surface area will be either wooden panels or straight wall. We strongly suggest you to mount your poster with poster hangers or bring your own poster putty (removable adhesive tabs).

Abstracts review

The conference language is English and therefore all abstracts must be submitted in English. The Scientific Committee (SC) will review all submitted abstracts. Abstracts failing to meet minimum standards or are not relevant to this conference will be declined. Additionally, if the language is considered inadequate, requiring major corrections, the scientific committee reserves the right to reject the submission. Subsequently, for those abstracts submitted requesting consideration for oral presentation, the SC will determine if the submitted work qualifies to be presented orally or by poster. All abstracts accepted by the Scientific Committee will be published and submission of an abstract implies consent by the authors to have the abstract published by the Conference.
