Student travel grants
A number of travel grants will be available to students regularly enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs and presenting an abstract as first author.
The awards will include complimentary registration and a partial grant to cover the recipients’ costs of hotel in double room and meals during the Conference. Unfortunately no support is possible towards airfare costs. Applications will only be accepted from those with submitted abstracts for the Conference.
The applicant must register for the Conference online without paying. If accepted, his/her Registration Fee will be waived and a grant, sufficient to cover hotel and meal cost during the whole duration of the Conference, will be given to the recipient. Please follow the application guidelines below.
Application
Applications are in English only and must be received by March 31, 2011. Confirmations of travel grants will be made before April 15, 2011
Applicants must have a confirmed VISA access to Brazil 45 days prior to the Conference. If a VISA application is refused the award will be re-allocated.
The age limit for applicants is 35 years (born in 1975 or later) and must be regularly attending a graduate or undergraduate program. You must include the following in your application:
- A letter of application (max. 400 words) stating the reasons why attending the IUFRO Tree Biotech Conference 2011 will be important for your professional development and current research project
- An original declaration of the University in letterhead showing proof of regular attendance of a graduate or undergraduate program (declaration can be in Portuguese or in any other foreign language, no need for translation)
- A copy of the abstract(s)
- A short CV including a list of publications
- A copy of your passport, which must have at least 6 months before expiration
